The main objective of this project is to develop a real time simulation platform for performance evaluation of wireless telecommunication and geolocation terminals for military applications. The core of the equipment is the world leading PROPSim channel simulator developed by Elektrobit Ltd., Finland for commercial applications. PROPSim is capable of simulating the dynamic and static behavior of the radio channel for predefined commercial channel models such as ITU, TETRA, GSM, IS-54 and IS-95. In this project we augment these capabilities with (1) existing channel models for military applications (2) channel models developed for geolocation applications in the SUO/SAS project, and (3) evolving channel modeling techniques in SUO/SAS and GloMo reflecting the behavior of the channel in a smart antenna environment.
