Research Laboratory: The Advisory Board
The Advisory Board oversees the operation
of the Group. Each sponsoring member has a sit in the board. Currently,
Digital Equipment Corporation, Cushcraft, Persoft, Raytheon, and Telexon/Aironet,
the founding members of the laboratory participate as voting members of
the board. Craig J. Mathias of Farpoint Group (farpoint@ultranet.com)
serves as the Chair and Prof. Pahlavan, as Executive Director. To provide
technical insight in specific areas other WPI faculty may be invited to
participate at the relevant meetings of the Advisory Board.
The Board has the following functions:

Suggest topics for research and review the
execution of its research plan during the year

Provide a review of the results of research
with respect to commercial needs and technical directions of the wireless
LAN industry

Suggest directions for the implementation
of public-relation functions of the WLRL that are implemented according
to WPI's traditional means.

Long term direction planning.
