Dear workshop participant,
In view of the latest tragic events, we have received a number of expressions of sympathy for our sorrow and declaration of confusions about the impacts of the current events on the program of the workshop. At this difficult situation, we found it necessary to compose this message to all of you to clarify the situation.
Inspired by the following email from one of the participants:
"In the face of the unspeakable and horrible events that took place in the US, I feel that making this gathering a success can be our contribution to the beginning of restoring the disturbed communication among people and nations of the world. Telecommunications have always had such an impact."
we decided that we shall dedicate ourselves to live up to this situation by carrying through with the workshop on September 27-28, as scheduled. The only change is that we have extended the deadline of September 15 for presentation material to Wednesday September 19, to allow some recovery time for those affected by this situation.
We firmly believe that the success of our workshop in this situation will demonstrate the victory of the spirit of constructive international harmony, peaceful pursuit of happiness for all, and unity of the humanity.
